Speech-Language Therapy

Each Ridge Zeller Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) holds a master’s degree with extensive study in communication, pragmatics, speech, language, and swallowing development and disorders; an Arizona State Department of Health license; Arizona Department of Education professional certificate; a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; and an Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card.
Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) are an integral part of our Speech-Language Teams. SLPAs work under the direct supervision of an SLP, according to specific guidelines mandated by the State of Arizona. Our SLPAs hold a bachelor’s degree and are licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services. The scope of an SLPA’s practice includes, but is not limited to, developing lessons or activities, providing treatment, conducting speech-language screenings, and acting as second-language interpreters during assessments.

Who Will Be My Speech Therapist?

The professional in charge of an individual’s speech-language therapy program is known as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). The SLP will work with each child to design a program that meets their unique needs. Meaningful activities will be developed to make therapy interesting and effective in meeting goals.
